El Monte is an incorporated city within the County of Los Angeles. It is a medium sized, medium density, suburban city bordered by the cities of Temple City to the North, South El Monte to the South, Rosemead to the West, and Baldwin Park to the East. It is also located over 14 miles East of Downtown Los Angeles.
The city was incorporated in 1912 and consists of mainly single family, multi-family, PUD, and condominium residences built predominantly between 1920-2005. There is a limited range of housing styles which consists of mainly Traditional and Spanish style homes.
