Santa Clarita is an Incorporated city within the County of Los Angeles, however, consists of four unincorporated communities of Valencia, Canyon Country, Newhall, and Saugus. It is a large sized, low density, suburban area that consists predominately of residential tract style communities. The city is bordered by Castaic Mountains to the North, Angeles National Forest to the South and East, and (5) Freeway to the West. It is also located over 35 miles Northwest of Downtown Los Angeles.
The city was incorporated in 1987 and consists predominantly of quiet single family tract residences built between 1940-2015. There is a limited range of housing styles which consists of mainly Traditional style homes.
